Zirconia ceramic balls may be requested as individual mechanical components or as grinding media for a milling process. These are different specifications. A nominal ball diameter alone does not establish the dimensional grade of a component or the suitability of a media batch.

For balls used as components

Describe the contact arrangement and whether the ball locates, rolls, seats or seals. Include diameter tolerance, roundness, surface finish and the inspection method where these affect function. For grinding and dispersing media

Provide the mill type, proposed media size, product being processed and whether milling is wet or dry. Include the liquid chemistry where applicable, the contamination limits that matter to your product, and the required batch quantity. A trial plan should define how you will evaluate wear, product contamination and process results.

Make the quotation scope explicit

• Component balls: quantity by piece, dimensional requirements and inspection records.
• Grinding media: quantity by mass, size range and any batch documentation requested.
• Both: zirconia grade requirement, application conditions and sample evaluation needs.
