An industrial ceramic nozzle is a flow component whose function depends on the internal passage and outlet, not only its outer shape. Identify whether the nozzle meters, directs or distributes a flow, and describe the result the assembly needs to achieve.

Define the flow path and connection

Include the inlet and outlet dimensions, passage profile and mounting interface. Mark any thread, shoulder, seal seat or insert holder. For an existing nozzle, state the working orientation and which feature has worn or failed.

Provide the operating medium

• Liquid, gas or slurry composition and any abrasive particles.
• Pressure and temperature conditions, including start-up or cleaning cycles.
• Required flow or spray result and the method used to check it.
• Contact with seals, metal holders or other mating materials.

Material selection needs to consider the actual medium and conditions. A ceramic material’s general wear resistance does not establish compatibility with every chemical or process.

From sample to agreed specification

A sample or photograph can help explain a worn nozzle, but provide a drawing or agree the dimensions that must be recovered. State the quantity, critical orifice checks and any flow-test requirement.
